Nifty Fifty is a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II lens. It gained this name bc it is vey inexpensive, ranging from $100-$125 new! It is one of Canon's highest selling lens' EVER! It also takes pretty good photos! This is often the first upgrade for many people when upgrading from the kit lens.

There is a group of us on http://photography-on-the.net/forum/ and we send a Nifty Fifty around the world to each other. We each keep the lens for a couple of weeks and then send it on. We take photos with the lens of our small corner of the world. We share these photos of Nifty's journeys on the forum.

There are a few different Nifties that travels the US, Canada, Euro, and even Dupan( basically everything else that isn't covered - Middle East, China, Australia, etc.)!
